Janet Brown graduated as a physiotherapist in 1988. After working at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne, and The London Clinic, London, U.K., she joined Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre, Melbourne working with a wide range of athletes, both elite and recreational. Janet studied Level III Sports Physiotherapy at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, and had the opportunity to contribute to the first edition of a leading Sports Medicine Text, “Clinical Sports Medicine” (Brukner & Khan, 1993). Her interest in dance-related injuries led her to practice at the Australian Ballet and the Melbourne Dance Clinic, prior to relocating to Ballarat with her husband and young family in 1999. Janet remains committed to supporting the local dance and performing arts community with the experience she has gained in the education, injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of dancers over the years.
